A gun that probably drew some of the largest crowds at the first day of SHOT was the new ORIGIN-12 shotgun from Fostech Arms (www.fostecharms.com). This gun is based on the Saiga style receiver but that is where the similarity ends. The gun is gas operated, has a quick change barrel assembly, folding AR type shock and last round bolt hold open. The gun uses Fostech’s proprietary magazine which comes in either 5, 8 or 10 round stick types or 20 and 30-round drums. The gun shown has a 10 barrel but it can also be ordered in an 18.25 inch model.

SilencerCo (www.silencerco.com) has several new suppressors that are being introduced at the show. The one shown is called the Saker 7.62. This new suppressor is designed for basically any caliber from .308 and smaller. It features their MAAD mounting system and interchangeable front cap. The suppressor is full-auto rated, one handed OD on/off mount and has a black oxide finish. The photo shows the new Saker mounted on a new firearm, an H&K 53 in 300 Blackout manufactured by Dakota Tactical (www.dakotatactical.com).

Kel-Tec (www.keltecweapons.com) introduced their new RDB bullpup .223 rifle this year at SHOT. The new rifle is rear bottom ejecting and feeds from any AR-15 style magazine. It features a 17.5 inch barrel and has a full length top picatinny rail for mounting sights or optics. There will also be another model of this rifle that features a wooden forearm and pistol grip as well as being mostly made from steel. Kind of a “cold war” version called the M43.

Ohio Ordnance Works, Inc. (www.ohioordnanceworks.com), was displaying their new HCAR (Heavy Counter Assault Rifle). This is a highly modified BAR with a new trigger pack that has an adjustable 3.5 to 7 pound trigger, ambi magazine release, railed forearm and threaded barrel. The gun fires from a closed bolt and weighs considerably less than a standard BAR at just 12 pounds. It accepts any AR-15 style and will be available in any color of Cerakoat finish.

Bondhus Arms (www.bondhusarms.com) has a new 2-shot pistol called the CL380. This unique folding design pistol is smaller than a pack of playing cards and features 2 barrels mounted side by side with a green laser mounted between them. The new gun features a push-button trigger for each barrel. The CL380 is billed as the smallest multi-shot .380 made.

Boberg Arms (www.bobergarms.com) was on hand showing their new XR45 pistols. Modeled after their Cadillac of 9mm pistols, the XR9, their new pistol will fire all .45 ACP ammunition including +P. The pistol will even handle the powerful .460 Roland round but more on that later.

MasterPiece Arms (www.masterpiecearms.com) has a new bolt-action rifle called the MPA308BA. The new rifle features an aluminum chassis and is chambered in .308. Other features include a Spencer/MPA hand lapped barrel that is threaded, Stillers Precision bolt and action, a Jewel or Timney trigger and is said to be sub ½ MOA!! It can be ordered to accept either AICS or AW magazines.

DAWTECH (www.ballisticbunker.com) is now marketing a new quadcopter personal drone. The drone shoots both 1080i high definition video and 14 megapixel still images with its onboard camera and can send either one back to the users Wi-Fi enabled phone or tablet. The video and stills are also stored on board the drone to a micro SD card. The unit has a GPS-based autopilot and a range of well over 1000 feet. It uses a lithium polymer battery that allows for flight times of 25 to 30 minutes.
